My family is traveling from Florida to New Jersey for Christmas. Any advice on keeping our toddler occupied on the flight?
Luckily it is a pretty short flight but long enough for a busy toddler to get antsy staying in one place. Pack lots of favourite snacks and a few new things for interest. Don't shy away from technology, either. A tablet loaded with a few new games and shows can be the perfect electric babysitter. Even if you're pretty strict about screen time at home, this is a good opportunity to loosen the rules. Now my kids actually look forward to long flights for the unfettered access to their devices.
Have a few old school options like a colouring book and crayons and even a travel etch a sketch on hand, and maybe bring them out first. If they tire of the tech it's pretty hard to go back.
Have a great flight!
Hi! We're heading out on Wednesday for the holidays, and were hoping to avoid lugging our stroller and carseat around. I've heard that renting these might be a possibility. Any insights you have would be much appreciated!
Depending on where you are going, texting can be extremely expensive. Also, you have no way of knowing what the history of the car seat is, so renting those is not recommended.
If you think you will be travelling often, a lightweight stroller and car seat that travels well would be worth lugging.
If you do decide to rent the gear, search your destination for s service they will meet you at the airport with it, because you'll likely need it as soon as you arrive.
