Hi my toddler is 16 months and is still breastfeeding.she goes to sleep around 830pm but consistently wakes around 12am 2am and 4am to nurse shortly and goes back to sleep. Will this go away on its own or is there something I can do to change this so she can sleep through the night?
Hi Angelina! It sounds to me that she has a nurse to sleep association which prevents her to go back to sleep independently. If this is the case, you have to proactively teach her to self-soothe, it won't go away otherwise. You would do that by not nursing her anymore throughout the night and by picking a sleep training method that fits your parenting style to address the wake ups. I would also suggest that you move her bedtime a little earlier to between 6-8pm.
