Not napping

Hi. My daughter is 8w1d old and has been fighting her naps tooth and nail for about 5 days now. She usually does okay at night, a 4-4.5 hour stretch and then a 2.5-3 hour stretch, but naps have become impossible. It started with her beginning to do one really long nap (2-2.5hr) in the morning and then struggling with afternoon naps, but now it's all naps. She falls asleep, but wakes up 5 min later. And it's not like she's happy in between. I can tell she's tired. She's only getting 10-12 hrs total a day. I was planning to try to get her on a routine starting at 8 weeks, but now I'm desperate to get her to nap any way possible. I know I'm developing bad habits as a result (nursing her to sleep). Fyi: So for she has a hard time with bottles and doesn't like any of the 4 different pacis we've tried (exept for three times she seemed to love it for an hour or so). Btw:? I also just sent this in a message, but since I saw the q&a pop up...)

Just replied to your message ;)

I'm having a very similar problem with my 7 week old and would love to hear your thoughts as well!

My comment to Carrie was that I believe her baby may have reflux and I recommended that she speak with the pediatrician. Does your baby have reflux, Britt?

Britt, I'm sorry you're going through this too, but I'll admit, it's nice to know I'm not the only one.

Interesting... as I've wondered that at times, but I don't think so. She'll only sleep while in motion (on walks, in the car, in the bjorn) or on me! And if my husband puts her in a crib/chair she'll stay asleep but if I try to put her down she wakes instantaneously.

I just left a message for the doc. I looked up the symptoms again and it really does sound like her. Silent reflux mostly. I didn't realize frequent hiccups were a symptom.

I'm having the same problem as Britt. My baby will be 8w on Tues and she sleeps fine as long as she's on me but doesn't like being held by other people including my husband and I can only set her down maybe 5 min awake or asleep before she screams. She will sleep on her boppi as long as it's on my lap. She is breastfeeding and she always has at least a hand on my chest. Is the breastfeeding making her over attached and how can I get her to start having some separation because I go back to work this week!
