Hi joeleanna, |
Hi Vanessa.
My 4.5 month old baby sometimes wakes up earlier than her feeding time. Sometimes she cries 5 minutes than go back to sleep. I let her cry because she can put herself to sleep. But Sometimes I cannot take it and give the pacifier. I don’t want to add another feeding but I don’t know What I need to do when she wakes up earlier than the feeding time. Or why is she waking up?

Rumeysam I change diaper and her clothes, we read book then I feed her. I put her bed awake. Even she falls asleep when I feed. I wake her up and put her bed. She makes some noises and sleeps. |

Rumeysam I checked the chart, She fits on her age. But, when She wakes up more then once, do I need to let her cry? |

Babies like to suck as a tool to bring themselves sleep. If we disassociate the suck from the sleep, they have success in learning independent sleep/ self-soothing skills. |

This is a nice blog post that explains the different methods: no checks, timed checks, or chair method. |
My daughter is 11 weeks old. At 3 weeks, she was having some difficulties that would cause her to vomit a couple times a day. The pediatrician recommended keeping her elevated while she sleeps, and to let her have time flat on her back while she's awake. I got a rock and play and keep her next to my bed. The vomiting has since stopped, and she is sleeping longer stretches at night. I don't feed comfortable keeping her asleep in the rock and play for up to 8 hours while she sleeps. However, now she now associates laying flat on her back with play time, so when I lay her in the crib, she thinks it's time to play. How can I get her to sleep in her crib again?

Another priority is to practice laying down, quiet, yet awake. At naps and bedtime. This is the main sleep goal from 8-16 weeks. |
