Baby carriers
JOHANA RAMOS, PARENT OF 18 MONTH OLD

Hi there i have a 12 1/2 weeks baby girl. Can i use a body baby carrier already? She does not have full control of her neck. But inknow there are diferent types of baby carriers...

Hi Johana,

Each baby carrier is different so first I would suggest you look at the instructions that came with the one you have. Some carriers can be used from infancy and others have a minimum weight requirement that baby must weigh before using. If your carrier has the option to face baby both in and out, an important point is that babies should never face out until they have complete control of their head and neck. But facing you is so problem even if your baby doesn't have full control yet. Your carrier will most likely have an insert or panel that can support their head and if you're using a soft wrap, one of the panels can be used to support your baby's head. Another tip, visit the brand's website, where you will most likely find how-to videos with step by step instructions on how to use your carrier!

Thank youuuu

Bumbo/Mama and Papa seats
JULIET, PARENT OF 19 MONTH OLD

I have heard mixed things about these seats-one that they are great but also that putting baby in them too early can be bad for them. My baby boy is just getting some core control at 15 weeks old and seems to like it in there for a little bit with supervision. Are these ok?

Hi Juliet,

This is a fantastic question! Bumbo seats are safe to use once your baby has good head and neck control. They are perfectly fine to use for short amounts of time and if your baby enjoys sitting up and playing for a bit, then go for it! But it's good to know that with any product that keeps a baby propped up or confined, it can impede their development which is why you only want to use them for short amounts of time. The best place for a baby to work on their core skills and physical development is on the floor!
