I have a family history of lactose intolerance is it possible that my 6 week old might be allergic to my milk?

Hi Sian - are there any symptoms your baby is having that would lead you to believe s/he may be lactose intolerant?

SIAN

I think that he might have colic (inconsolable crying in the mornings and evenings for hours) I saw that what i ate might be triggering this and also that lactose intollerance might also cause gut problems.

Dairy could be a culprit (but also may not!). You could do a 3+ week dairy-free trial to see if there is any improvement, but please speak to your doctor about your concerns and what is going on with the inconsolable crying before eliminating any foods from your diet.
