I noticed on my 2nd day of breastfeeding a little drop of blood is that normal?
I need help to stop my 9 month old from nursing.
I have tried everything i am done with nursing.
Happy to try and help! Great job nursing 9 months! Can you share a bit about what you have tried so far and why it didn’t work/where the challenges are?
Hi Jaz. Sore nipples the first few days can be normal. If the cracking/bleeding Continues though, we’ll want to address your latch. If you are still in hospital/birth center, ask for help! Congratulations on your new baby!
My baby girl is almost a month old and still painful to breastfeed I think she’s not latching on right.
How can I get help?
Oh okay thank you so much! I was getting worried because with my son it didn't do this but with my son i onoy pumped with my daughter now she is latching so i was thinking thats why and now it makes sense! Thank you again 😏
Jaz - I’m hoping things have improved?
Kathy - painful nursing that lasts past first week and lasts the entire feeding usually signals a shallow latch. When babe latches can you try easing chin down with your index finger To make baby latch deeper? Has baby’s doctor checked baby’s mouth for tongue tie? If not, it may be something to get checked and ruled out so we can focus on improving the latch with good technique. I really like this resource from Dr Jane Morton at Stanford University
