We’ve rounded up some great essentials (and some highly-sought after upgrades to help make your life easier!!) that we recommend adding to your registry.
No matter how you plan on feeding your newborn, the reality is you’re going to be feeding them… a lot. Like, 8-12 times a day. So while you may have plenty of clothes, toys, and diapers on your registry, don’t forget about feeding gear! We’ve rounded up some great essentials (and some highly-sought after upgrades to help make your life easier!!) that we recommend adding to your registry.
7 feeding gear items to help make your life easier:
Nipple pads & balm
It takes time for your body to adjust to breastfeeding. In the early days of breastfeeding, especially, your breasts may leak and your nipples may be sore as your body adjusts. This is where nursing pads and nipple balms can come in handy to help keep you comfortable.
Bottle washer
Bottles and pump parts have to be cleaned every. dang. day. Countertop bottle washers like the Baby Brezza Bottle Washer Pro help lighten your mental load just a little bit by automating the task for you, washing and drying those bottles (and pump parts!) in just a few minutes.
Bottles
Bottles are a part of the feeding routine for most families, even those who breastfeed. Rather than going all-in on one kind of bottle, though, order a few different bottles to try. You may find your baby takes whatever they are given, or you might find they have a clear preference for a certain kind of bottle, in which case you know exactly what to buy for the future!
Nursing bras
A good nursing bra or tank can provide you with the support you need throughout the day while still offering easy access for nursing or pumping. Like with bottles, when putting together a registry, you may want to request a few different kinds of nursing bras to ultimately decide which one you like best.
Bottle sterilizer
The CDC recommends that you sterilize baby bottles at least once a day for the first 2 months, and longer if your baby is born prematurely. Given that you will already have around 12 dirty diapers and approximately 1000 spit-up-covered shirts to clean a day, having a bottle sterilizer like the Baby Brezza One Step Baby Bottle Sterilizer & Dryer Advanced on hand will help make your life easier. It sterilizes bottles in 8 minutes and will even dry them afterwards!
Burp cloths
Think you already have enough? Trust us. You don’t. You can never, ever have too many burp cloths. Even after your baby stops spitting up on everything (which may not be as soon as you hope), burp cloths are a convenient, washable way to clean up a variety of baby messes at home and on-the-go.
Breast pump
Even if you plan on exclusively breastfeeding your baby, it’s helpful to have a breast pump on hand. Many insurances offer them for free, and they come in handy if you find yourself unexpectedly away from your baby and needing to express breast milk. Doing so can give you more flexibility in your feeding routine by allowing others to feed your baby a bottle.
Can you *technically* live without some of these items? Sure. But do they help make your life easier? Yes. And trust us when I say, you will appreciate anything that helps lighten your load on a daily basis.
Especially when it comes to feeding, Baby Brezza has the registry “upgrades” we wished we’d had when our children were young. Learn more about their bottle sterilizers and washers today.
