- Meet a group of other moms in your area
- Talk, listen, laugh, bond
In our new moms groups, each week you’ll share experiences, engage in parenting discussions, gather valuable resources, and ask your parenting questions in order to make this time of major transition smoother, saner, easier and more enjoyable!
After these warm, informative, and friendly sessions, you’ll be fully connected to a great group of other trusted moms and feel empowered with essential skills such as dealing with sleep deprivation and overcoming the challenges of feeding & fussiness.
Mommybites’ support groups are led by facilitators who will guide you to embrace your new role & identity as a mom with more confidence, compassion and humor.
Led by Katherin Hudkins, former Isis Instructor and Founder of Seedlings: Katherin has been studying childbirth since her first year at Smith College, where she received her BA in Anthropology with a focus in the Anthropology of Reproduction. Katherin has over a decade of extensive childcare experience, worked as a birth doula in Ecuador and Massachusetts, and spent a summer as a traditional midwife’s apprentice in Guatemala. Her passion for emotional support of expecting and new parents brought her to Isis Parenting in June of 2010, where she worked as an assistant center manager and a staff trainer. Her natural gift with moms and babies drew her into the field of postpartum support as a doula and Isis facilitator of new moms groups. Her teaching style is warm, upbeat, and positive, and informed by her cross-cultural and evolutionary studies of childbirth and parenting.
What if I have to miss a session?
Life happens (especially as a new mom!) Do what you can to make it each week, but know that the program is valuable even if you have to miss some sessions. We don’t prorate our support groups for missed sessions as it’s really about getting 6 weeks of support & resources (vs 6 sessions). One of the best parts? Developing friendships with so many supportive moms.
