Hoping for some advice as we’ve watched every video, read every article, and spoken with our pediatrician but are still hitting this roadblock. Babe is 4.5 weeks and overall SO chill & easy. About a week ago he started spitting up in his sleep and waking up coughing and crying, which is the least fun sound to wake up to. I feel like the issue could largely be resolved if we could figure out an efficient burping method. I will sometimes get a little burp out before a feeding and in between sides and it seems to be less of an issue then, but those are rare. I can hold him upright for an hour after a 10 min feed and still run into this issue. It‘s now having an adverse affect on him being able to sleep in his crib since he’s becoming accustomed to fall asleep in our arms every time. I’m not into sleep training just yet or CIO (he’s obviously in pain), but before this started, I loved him being able to fall asleep just about anywhere, and sleeping comfortably in his crib at night. It’s also impacting his ability to sleep in general and starting at about 3am, I can only get about an hour out him for a nap or two the rest day (and even less sleep for myself). Even if we do everything “right” he will still fight sleep because he’s hurting! I’m not waking him for middle of the night feeds anymore because I worry he’s over full or suckling to soothe. We use a pacifier if he will take it, even if it takes some persistence. Gripe water works off and on, but even with that we still have spit up & crying marathons. We can feel his tummy is hard and he’s arching back, and sometimes he will want to latch but will cry at the breast because of that trapped gas. It’s to the point where I don’t know when/how to lay him back down to sleep because it sets us back to square one if he wakes up spitting up. I’m open to any and all advice or support. I have a Memeeno belly band on the way, an amber/wood necklace, gripe water, gas drops, and considering probiotics as well. It’s too inconsistent to introduce medication, but it’s still happening enough, and at the worst times, for it to be an issue. Any one else run into a similar issue?
I have a 3 month old, who has been exclusively breastfeeding for all 3 months. Last month I was able to feed her way more than I am now. She’s eating about two ounces every two hours. Is there any way that I can up my milk supply fast?
Hi! I’m am finalizing my breast pump through insurance and was always leaning towards the pink Spectra s2...however, my insurance only covers that one in bundle and would have to pay a little (which is totally fine) but it’s got me looking at other options. The Motif Luna Battery Double Electric has my eye especially since it is rechargeable. Anyone have any thoughts on either one? Or have the Motif Luna and love it? Thank you and God bless😊
Hello, I was curious of what other ways I could help my 1 month old's nursing experience while dealing with an over active letdown? I hand express when engorged and try to express a little bit of milk before she latches on to prevent the worst of the letdown, but almost every time she eats (on both sides) I spray her without meaning to and she chokes and cries. I am starting to get really disheartened. I don't want nursing to be stressful for either of us but I also really want to exclusively breastfeed for as long as possible.
Hello,
I’m having twins very soon and I wanted to know if after I deliver I could take collagen powder supplement and biotin pills (I’ll be exclusively pumping cause we believe it’ll be better for us to feed evenly and give them both enough time) in addition to that do you still take prenatal pills after pregnancy or go back to a multivitamin?
