The New Century School is located in the wonderful, lively neighborhood of Fell’s Point in the former location of the Mother Seton Academy. The location is convenient to the residents of Southeast Baltimore as well as to families who commute into Baltimore to work. The New Century School offers a high-quality individualized education in a supportive environment. The preschool program follows a Montessori curriculum, stressing choice, learning from peers, and the cultivation of concentration. The elementary program takes a modified Montessori approach, featuring small mixed-aged classes, technology, arts, and hands-on science. School-wide, we focus on teaching children to be gracious and kind to one another. Children are encouraged to make choices based upon their interests and knowledge and are given clear guidelines for acceptable behavior that is positively and consistently reinforced. While the core school hours are 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., extended care is available in the morning at 7:30 a.m. and in the evening until 6:00 p.m.
