Patterson Park Audubon Center

  1. Patterson Park Audubon Center (PPAC)—part of the National Audubon Society and Audubon MD-DC—has been actively involved in the community since 2002, leading nature-based education and stewardship programs for participants of all ages.

National Audubon Society connects people with nature by providing the community with opportunities for environmental education, conservation, and stewardship. Their mission is to conserve and restore natural ecosystems, focusing on birds, other wildlife, and their habitats for the benefit of humanity and the earth’s biological diversity. PPAC, with offices at Baltimore Street and Linwood Avenue, is an educational wing of the National Audubon Society.

In addition to teaching school programs, PPAC educators lead family activities such as bird-watching walks, Tiny Tots safaris, youth bird watching and monitoring, and wildlife gardening workshops in Patterson Park and the surrounding communities. Several of these programs are offered in both English and in Spanish. PPAC welcomes individual volunteers as well as school, community, and corporate volunteer groups.
