I have been a DONA-certified birth doula since 2008. I am now serving as a doula with DC Birth Doulas. We are a group practice of three experienced birth doulas (Amy Ard, Sarah Paksima, and Sara Baum). We bring to our work many years of collective experience, a compassionate approach, and excellent relationships with area birthplaces and birth care providers. Our group's focus is on helping women and families to have a positive experience giving birth no matter what their preferences may be, and no matter how the birth unfolds. Our services include a free birth plan workshop, a prenatal visit in your home, unlimited phone and email contact, continuous emotional, physical, and informational support during labor and birth, postpartum assistance with breastfeeding, and a postpartum visit in your home.
