Meg Akabas

Certified Parenting Educator

Meg Akabas is the founder of New York City-based Parenting Solutions™, a consultancy designed to help parents discover the joy in parenting, and the author of 52 Weeks of Parenting Wisdom: Effective Strategies for Raising Happy, Responsible Kids. Meg is a Certified Parenting Educator and provides one-on-one consultations and leads workshops for parents and teachers on infancy through pre-adolescence. She has served as president of the board of two Manhattan schools and has more than 18 years of leadership experience in nursery and elementary schools. As a member of the New York State Parenting Education Partnership (NYSPEP), where she serves on the steering committee, and the National Parenting Education Network (NPEN), where she sits on the Council and is the Chairwoman-elect, Meg advocates for universal parenting education. Through her work for both NYSPEP and NPEN, she strives to bring early parenting education to the forefront of national policy, promoting an understanding that everyone can benefit from more information on parenting from day one and that how we parent truly matters.
