The January Science Sleuths is Birds of Prey! Lauren is a bird expert, and she will talk about many different types of birds of prey that are seen locally and around the world. We will also do a hands on learning activity about what makes these birds such spectacular predators. In addition, we will explore a great online resource that showcases these birds. Finally, participants will make their own owl during our craft activity! This Science Sleuths program is designed to actively engage young students with Birds of Prey! Science Sleuths provides a learning opportunity for children to enjoy scientific exploration and discovery in a creative environment.

This year we are very excited be at a new location at UNH, in Morrill Hall, which is right across the street from the UNH Recreation Facility. The room space is in the Community Literacy Center, and this room has been specifically designed for child education. There is a parking lot (Edgewood Road Visitor Lot) with metered parking right across the street from Morrill Hall. For a fully searchable PDF map of UNH, go to the URL below (type in "Morrill "and the "Edgewood" to view the location event and parking): https://www.unh.edu/sites/default/files/departments/facilities/Maps/s_uu_dwg_map_camp_sm_map_2018_campus_map_with_index.pdf
